How Negative Emotions Affect our Health

“If someone wishes for good health, one must first ask oneself if he is ready to do away with the reasons for his illness. Only then is it possible to help him.” ~ Hippocrates (460 BC-370 BC, the father of Western Medicine)

There is a cause and effect relationship between the mind and the body. The ancient ones already knew it, as it is reflected in the quote by Hippocrates. The Chinese have outlined clearly the relationship between negative emotions and diseases already prior to 2,000 BC.

This understanding is making a comeback in our modern world that has experienced a lack of knowledge of this ancient wisdom. Louise Hay, in her book  You Can heal Your Life, has shared a most insightful understanding of how negative emotions and belief systems affect various parts of the body.

Speaking of the powerful link between emotional outlook and physical health, Martin Seligman, PhD, one of the preeminent experts in the field of positive psychology and author of the new book Flourish said:  “I didn’t believe in it when I started out 40 years ago, but the data has grown year after year, and it’s become a scientific certainty.”

I would like to share with you a chart which isemotional-pain-chart-louise-hay part of the book, “Heal Your Body” by Louise Hay – where she has listed all the common illnesses and diseases with the possible metaphysical cause.

What can negative trapped emotions do. In this book, The Emotion Code, Dr. Bradley Nelson wrote: “Trapped emotions can cause you to make the wrong assumptions, overreact to innocent remarks, misinterpret behavior and short-circuit your relationships. Even worse, trapped emotions can create depression, anxiety and other unwanted feelings that you can’t seem to shake. They can interfere with the proper function of your body’s organs and tissues, wreaking havoc with your physical health, causing pain, fatigue and illness.” (pg 11)
How can the negative emotions and belief system be overcome? There are various ways: deep breathing, meditation, yoga, doing the various positive affirmations. If you still have difficulties, I would strongly suggest that you try The Emotion Code, by Dr. Bradley Nelson.
The Emotion Code is a highly effective energy healing modality that allows to identify and release the negative trapped emotions that may be at the root of our pain. If you are interested in trying it out, I would be glad to do a session with you.
This is exactly what Hippocrates spoke of so long ago: “do away of the reasons for illness.”
